Hi all,

Spiky, Charon and I have been playing elfball recently, which is an alternative to BB and is a game in its infancy. I'm running a tournament on Saturday March 6th at the Sandgate pub - let one of us know if you would like to learn how to play and/or take part in the tournament.

Cheers,

Mike

The tourney will be all comparitive newbie players so should be fun, relaxed and a great way to get to grips with the rules :D

Cheers to Mike for arranging this, as it looks like we'll be hosting the first UK tournament for the game... could put Swindon firmly on the map as I think Elfball is gaining momentum within the Fantasy Football community.

Most Bloodbowl models can be used to represent Elfball teams, I have a spare team or 2 if anyone needs to borrow some

Steve

Can you confirm that it will be OK to come along and play boardgames - as well as get my ass kicked in the first round of Elfball.
Also, do you know how big and many tables they will have as that will have a bearing on what and how many boardgames we might bring - if no one knows then I can go and stick my nose in and have a look.

Hi,

I'm afraid this is elfball only, as the room is not that big and there is a fair amount of interest from outside the club.

There will be four games of elfball, as it's a swiss system - would be great if you wanted to play!

Mike

Sorry Mike & Tom for the confusion!

Didn't realise how limited on space we were :)

You can still pop in and say Hi though I'm sure! If you wanted to take part, I could lend you a team and provide some test games?

Had a great day at the tournament on Saturday. The Swindonians made a nearly clean sweep netting the top 3 places. The below was posted on TalkFantasyFootball but I'm reposting as I know some of you don't have accounts there :)

Did you know Elfball and Uno could be played together, for added excitement?

From TFF:

---
Okay, this is a tentative post to find interest in an Elfball tournament on Saturday 19th June. It would follow a similar format to the one run by Mike in Swindon yesterday. (I.e. 9.30am register for a 10.00am start. Play 4 games during the day finishing about 5pm.)

Unfortunately, unlike the free venue that Mike found we would have to pay. I'm going to make a few phone calls tomorrow, but I think that it will be about £10 per person if there is enough interest.

The exact rules will be decided through discussion in another thread that I will start tomorrow.

So, if you are interested, or even better want to say you'd definitely be able to make it, then please post below.

Chris

Steve, Andrew, anyone else? We could take a car down, Bedford is 2 hours from here. I'm 90% going, and promise not to take Siringit :D
