Hi There,

Hope you don't mind - I moved your post to the Gaming Nights thread and renamed it so we can see who is able to attend this tuesday :)

I'll not be in, but hopefully someone else will take you up on your game offer!

Regards,
Steven

well i turned up tonight ...wasnt really impressed! no one wanted a game or even brang an army if i recall !!!

maybe i shall just stick with going to sadwargamers in moredon as no one was really social in the case of having a chat apart from one chap with a dog!!

the language wasnt really appropriate either. f ing and blinding all the time.

i really find board games a bit boring but each to their own but at least i tried! i didnt feel welcomed at all shall not be going in future.

Sorry to hear you did not feel welcome. I have never had that issue, having been made to feel welcome from day 1 and certainly never heard excessive f'ing and blinding! :(
Have to say though there weren't that many people there when I attended last week so maybe things are changing and I missed it?
As haven't been much over last 4 months or so due to new baby and uni work I can't really say...

That's a shame, when I went for my first visit back in November, I was greeted, shown around, then wandered about chatting to people playing Warhammer, board games, rpgs etc. Didn't get a game that night, but been a few times since and gotten some boardgaming in.

Of course, I'm not a Warhammer player, I just went there with the vague intention of playing some games. I don't think there are many current Fantasy/40k players at the club, so if there's a lot of them at SADWargamers, you might be better off making that your regular port of call.

I used to play Fantasy, years ago, but stopped partly because I had a hard time getting a game! So I feel your pain :D I generally go to SWAT equipped to run a game of Paranoia (RPG), hasn't happened yet, but at least it's only a folder to speculatively carry around, rather than crates full of minis.

In fact that may be the problem here for you... there's no "casual" wargaming at SWAT, you may be best off waiting for a firm booking before dragging your hordes to Gorse Hill.

Or try a boardgame. I hear Settlers of Catan is good, does anyone have a copy they'd like to bring next week and teach me? :)

there are some fun board games but as i did point out when you 1st started to come down apart from myself there are not many regular WHFB players, and only a couple of 40k players. mostly its bloodbowl/elfball and boardgames nowadays. I will let you know when I am next down the club and available for a game.
